KCR asks officials to expedite project works by next year rainy season
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao directed the officials to speed up and complete all pending works of Palamuru district on a priority basis ahead of the next rainy season.
KCR said that he will take up the topic of increase in taxes because of GST for granite, water supply and drinking water to the notice of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He is likely to write a letter to the PM on this issue shortly. KCR express dissatisfaction at some people seeking directions from National Green Tribunal after the Supreme Court of India has rejected to give a stay order on Sundilla barrage construction works. He said that the Government will go with a strategy to counter anyone who attempts to stop project works in the state. KCR conducted a review with the officials of the Water Supplies Department at Pragati Bhavan.
He reviewed the progress of the works of Kaleswaram, Palamuru and Sitaram Projects. Kaleswaram Project will be completed by 2019, he said. Sitaram Project that will benefit farmers from Khammam too would be completed in a years’ time. He said that Singuru Water has to be efficiently and strategically used because water will reach it with gravity. Mallanna sagar water will be used for feed Gandhamalla and Basvapur reservoirs which in turn will feed Gajwel, Bhuvanagiri and Aleru constituency lakes.
