K Vijayarama Rao
K Vijayarama Rao is a senior politician and a former Minister. He is a politician of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi. He has quit the Telugu Desam Party on 11 December 2015. Before entering politics, Vijayarama Rao served as a CBI director.
A former CBI director, Vijayarama Rao joined the Telugu Desam Party ahead of the 1999 Assembly elections. He successfully contested from the Khairatabad constituency defeating former CLP leader P Janardhan Reddy. Vijayarama Rao was immediately rewarded with a place in the Cabinet of Chandrababu Naidu.
Vijayarama Rao stayed away from party affairs after he was not nominated for any of the party committees in Telangana. On 11 December 2015, Vijayarama Rao has sent his resignation to party president Chandrababu Naidu. Though no reason was mentioned for his resignation, he was reportedly upset with the party leadership for keeping him aside from the party affairs.
On 3 January 2016, Vijayarama Rao and his daughter Annapurna joined the Telangana Rashtra Samithi party in the presence of chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.
