Palvai Govardhan Reddy died of cardiac arrest

Congress senior leader and MP Palvai Govardhan Reddy died of a massive cardiac arrest today at Shimla.

Govardhan Reddy was here for attending a standing committee meeting. He complained of chest pain and immediately rushed toa hospital where he died.

Govardhan Reddy was born on November 19, 1936 in Nadimpally village, of Anchampet mandal of Mahabubnagar. He was representing Telangana State as a Member of Rajya Sabha. He did his B.A. at Vivekavardhini College, Osmania University. He was a member of AP Legislative Assembly during 1967-72, 1972-78, 1978-83, 1983-1985 and 1999-2004. He was elected as MLC during 2007-2009.

He served as the Minister of State for Rural Water Supply, Youth Services and LIDCAP in the cabinet of Bhavanam Venkat Ram Reddy in 1981 and Minister of State for Handlooms and Textiles, Sericulture, Printing & Stationery in the Kotla Vijayabhasker Reddy cabinet.

He is survived by wife, two sons and a daughter.
