Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium

Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium is the main cricket stadium in Hyderabad. The stadium is formerly known as Visaka International Cricket Stadium. The ground is located in Uppal, Hyderabad. The Stadium is managed by the Hyderabad Cricket Association.

The Stadium is the home venue for the Sun Risers Hyderabad team in the International Premier League (IPL).


The stadium extends across 16 acres and has a seating capacity of 55,000.


The North end of the stadium is named after former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman.


IPL 2014

Four matches are scheduled to be hosted by the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Uppal, Hyderabad. The matches will be played on May 12, May 14, May 18 and May 20. Elaborate security arrangements with 1,500 police personnel will be deployed. 58 CCTV cameras will be used to monitor the surroundings of the stadium.
