Shabbir Ali is a politician belonging to Congress party. He is a Member of Legislative Council (MLC) in Telangana. Shabbir Ali was a former Minister for Energy, Coal, Minorities Welfare, Wakf & Urdu Academy, NRI Affairs in Government of Andhra Pradesh.
Shabbir Ali was born in 1957 at Kamareddy in Nizamabad district. He began his political career by actively participating in Youth Congress movement. He later served in several positions in Congress party.
On March 12, 2016, Shabbir Ali raised the issue of the decision of the Telangana Government to ban uploading of government orders on its website. This led to sharp exchanges between him and IT Minister K Taraka Rama Rao.
Reacting to the Telangana State Budget 2016-17, Shabbir Ali termed it mere jugglery of numbers and pointed out that 50 per cent of the funds from the previous budget was unspent.
